BUC TO FEATURE AT CHRISTIAN RESOURCES EXHIBITION 2017
5th October 2017
One of the biggest events in the Christian arena here in the UK is the annual Christian Resources Exhibition (CRE). Hailed as the main expo of all things related to Christianity, the CRE brings in all the top names in Christian organisations, businesses, products, music, and publishing. This year the British Union Conference (BUC) will be taking centre stage as we use this national event to showcase the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Since the start of the quinquennium the BUC has sought to set in place meaningful values that would underpin how we operate and function as a team of staff and directors which are – Valuing People, Inspiring Hope, Reflecting Christ and Changing Lives. These values were seen at work during the BUC 500-year Reformation celebrations in August where all departments worked together as a unit to reach out to our community as well as faithful members.
This year the event at the CRE will follow a similar cohesive plan of action. The BUC has been given a display stand near to the entrance of the exhibition which will take place from 17-19 October.
Pastor Maureen Rock (Adventist Discovery Centre Principal) who is coordinating the planning for the event says,
"The Christian Resources Exhibition is a gathering of faith groups and visitors in one location. The team at the BUC is working together on one common goal – showcasing the work of the Seventh-day Adventist Church outside of our church walls. It is for this purpose that the theme 'Seventh-day Adventist Church – Gospel in Action' has been selected. This is a joint exhibition by departments at the BUC with a special emphasis on our work in the community as related to the following areas:
- Tuesday 17 October – Celebration Health incorporating free health checks to exhibition visitors. Led by Sharon Platt-McDonald, Millie Williams and team.
- Wednesday 18 October ‒ Education and Religious Liberty incorporating the work of our Primary and Secondary Schools as well as Newbold College. Led by Kathleen Hanson and team.
- Thursday 19 October – Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) incorporating visual and verbal information sharing on the work of ADRA especially in the light of recent world disasters. This will be led by Bert Smit and team.
"Our display will be located at Stand S2 on the ground floor, Sandown Park, Esher, Surrey, KT10 9AJ and will be a ticketed event. You can obtain your free complimentary ticket here."
We look forward to seeing you there.
