CHRISTMAS CELEBRATIONS IN DUBLIN RANELAGH

4th December 2017

With Christmas now less than a month away the celebrations and festivities have already started in Ranelagh Village, Dublin and the Ranelagh based Cuisle Centre was there, right at the centre of it all.

This is a highly anticipated event in the community each year. Shortly before the event, children and youth of Ranelagh Seventh-day Adventist Church made their way up to “The Triangle” outside the local Spar at the heart of Ranelagh Village. There they were greeted by a crowd of jolly spirits. Children, mums and dads, aunties and uncles and grandparents from Ranelagh community all gathered, waiting in anticipation for the lighting of the Christmas tree. While they waited, they had great fun watching and joining in with some of the performances.

Three of these performances where given by the children and youth of the Ranelagh Seventh-day Adventist Church: The Harp of David Children’s Choir brought smiles to many faces with their melodious voices as they sang ‘Ring The Bells’. There was also a solo performance by Chloe McKenna who warmed all our hearts with a beautiful rendition of ‘Amazing Grace’. In a final item, the church’s youth group witnessed to the crowd singing ‘Do you Wanna Be Happy’ and their message was well received.

IMG-20171129-WA0005-2The Cuisle Centre had prepared some healthy Christmas treats and refreshments. One of its members, Joan Burch, said a few short words about the services the Cuisle Centre provides for the community before inviting the crowd to enjoy the treats and festivities with us back at the church.

The invitation resulted in a great turn out. Approximately 50 members of the community came to enjoy the refreshments. Church members and young people had a great time mingling and forming relationships with those who came. The evening presented an opportunity to share literature and invite visitors to attend some of the church services that are planned over the Christmas period.

Heather Keough, director of the Cuisle centre said, “It was a lovely evening and we hope that we were able to touch many hearts and form lasting relationships with those living around the Ranelagh Community.
