Research has shown that there are 1 in 8 adults that care for someone with a disability or long term illness. This is an estimated 6.5 million carers in the UK. Carers face health and emotional challenges because of their caring responsibilities. This weekend provides peer, emotional, physical, mental and spiritual support for carers to enable them to 'recharge their batteries' as they continue their caring responsibilities.

The book Poetry for the Soul is an intergenerational project written by two carers ‒ a young carer who has a sibling with autism and an older carer who has a grandson with severe learning disabilities. The book presents the authors' reflections on their experiences and the impact of their faith through poetry. They hope to inspire many through the poetic word.

ASNA aims, _DSC0009-002through this project, to give carers a voice and to provide an avenue for sharing their skills, talents and experiences in a creative and inspiring way.

The book can be ordered by sending an email to or with the quantity and a mailing address.

The cost per book is £6.99 + p&p. Discounts: Orders before the end of 2017 and more than 10 copies is discounted to £5.00 + p&p.
