Death of Lydia Rosa Thompson

6th June 2018

We were saddened to learn of the death on 28 May 2018 of Mrs Lydia Thompson.  Lydia was born in Austria on 4 May 1929 and grew up in an Adventist home.  In 1953 she married an electrician, Ernest (Ernie) Thompson and they had two children Derek and Carol born in December 1955 and August 1956 respectively.
In December 1956 Ernie entered denominational employment at the New Gallery, Regent Street, London, and was part of the team that ran the Gallery for the major evangelistic meetings that were run through the 50s to the early 80s.  In the early 1980s the New Gallery ceased to be a centre in this way and the Country Life group took over the running of the facilities, until the centre was returned to the Crown in the 1990s.
Lydia unfortunately had Alzheimer’s which left Ernie as her carer for many years.  Now she is at peace and Ernie looks forward to the day of resurrection when all will be restored.
The funeral will take place on Wednesday 13 June at 9:45 am at the North Chapel, Eltham Cemetery and Crematorium, Crown Woods Way, London SE9 2AZ.
