It was with sadness that we learned of the death of Dr Alina Clemonds in Grantham on the morning of Thursday 4 January.
Maria Alina Lozowski was born in Walka Szelwowsk, Poland on 1 January 1933. After graduating from Pinlzow High School Alina graduated from the medical school of Warsaw University in 1964. After her marriage to Leonard Clemonds in April 1966, the couple moved to Ghana in August 1967 where Alina worked as a Doctor while Leonard was the Kwahu Hospital business manager. Alina continued to work at the Kwahu Hospital until July 1973. During their time in Ghana their children were born, Annette in December 1967 and Martin in October 1969.
After Leonard had completed a period of study leave the family moved to the Jengre Hospital in Nigeria in May 1975, where Alina continued to work as a Doctor. In September 1976 Alina moved to the Medical Centre at the Adventist Seminary of West Africa (ASWA) where she continued to serve as a Doctor until the couple returned to the British Union Conference (BUC) on permanent return in July 1984.
The family relocated to Andrews University while Leonard studied and then in July 1988, returned to the BUC, where Leonard served as Business Manager at Newbold College until July 1991 when the couple accepted a call to return to the ASWA. Alina worked as a physician at the Ilishan Medical Centre from September 1991 to July 1995 when they again returned to the British Union.
Leonard then served as Head of the Business Department at Newbold College from S

The couple settled in Grantham where they have been active members of the Grantham church.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Leonard and the wider family.
