HACKNEY'S PERFECT END TO 2016

15th December 2016

For members and visitors of the Hackney Seventh-day Adventist church, the year of 2016 came to a perfect end with the baptism of three precious souls on Sabbath 10 December 2016. Sherece Sealy along with her twin daughters – Hania and Huda, gave their lives to the Lord through baptism, witnessed amongst family, friends, church members and visitors.

Hackney's Head Elder, Wentworth Williams said: "Since the moment Sherece and her daughters stepped foot into our church from the community they have earnestly requested to be baptized. Well the day is finally here and heaven is rejoicing at the fact that three more precious souls have been won for the army of God."

Ann Williams, a founder member of Hackney Adventist church who along with Ruby Merchant, studied with the family added: "Every week these young ladies have come to Bible studies and have often got to church before us – imagine that! This just shows how eager and dedicated they are in wanting to learn more about God and as they give their lives to Him today through baptism we give praise to the Lord."

Ministering in song were Michaela Mathieu-Marius and Debbie Ambrose who also led out in an amazing praise and worship session.

The family were baptized by Hackney's pastor – Joojo Bonnie who said: Pastor-Joojo-Bonnie"Heaven is rejoicing today because a family has been won for Christ. No matter how far away we have been from God, He always waits with open arms for us to return to Him." Then in his appeal to the congregation, Pastor Bonnie added: "Noah preached to the people for 120 years but in the end only he and his family were saved into the ark. Today God is saying to you through His Holy Spirit – if you hear my voice, harden not your hearts. I love you. I sent my Son to die for you. Will you return to me?"

For Sherece, Hania and Huda, the answer was certainly clear as through their public demonstration of baptism along with the church's acceptance of them into the membership of the Hackney Seventh-day Adventist church, heaven and its angels gained three more precious souls which further built up the kingdom of God and ensured that the year of 2016 came to an amazing end.
