London Ghana Elders' Ordination
8th February 2018
Four new elders in the London Ghana church were ordained on Sabbath 27 January (TBC) for the service of God into the ministry in accordance with the doctrine of the Church. They were among nine elders elected to serve in the church this year.
Speaking at the short but very impressive service, the head pastor of the church, George Boakye-Asiamah, acknowledged the importance of the ordination of God's people before starting work.
He said the divinity and the holiness of God require that those who respond to the call into the vineyard to work for Him have to avail themselves for sanctification through dedication and ordination.
He noted that the ordination of the elders could be a blessing depending upon how they treat their roles and carry themselves. He said God will speak through them to the church and also use them to lead the church in the furtherance of His work. He continued, "There is a lot of work for God's people to do especially during this period of the world's history, so you need to live up to the calling."
He implored the new elders not to hesitate to tap into the rich experiences of the old elders and to team up with them to ensure the effective running of the church.
"Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God, which He bought with His own blood", he said.
He then called on the church members to cooperate with the new elders to ensure the effective execution of the work of God and the church.
