EFL & Humanities teachers
Stanborough Park Secondary School is in the process of creating a database of individuals who are qualified and experienced in teaching English as a foreign language (EFL) and Humanities to visiting students whose first language is not English. International Stanborough School typically receives between 10 – 15 groups of varying sizes from all over the world each academic year.
For EFL, the successful applicant will hold a degree in English and will be capable of teaching English as a Foreign Language to visiting international groups. For Humanities, the successful applicant will ideally hold a degree in their area of speciality and be capable of teaching students whose first language is not English.
They will prepare and deliver appropriate learning materials and carry out assessments of students and their work. They will also be required to
-prepare dynamic lessons, which will engage students
-use communicative approach to teaching and learning
-teach and effectively differentiate for speakers with different levels of proficiencies in the English language (levels A1-C1)
All applicants must be able to demonstrate excellent management of pupil behaviour. Experience of having worked with speakers of other languages will be an added advantage. Successful individuals will be paid an hourly rate and will be called upon as and when the need arises.
Applicants must be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. The offer of employment in respect of this post will be made subject to a satisfactory Disclosure Certificate from the Disclosure & Barring Service and the receipt of satisfactory references.
